While applying for disability benefits should I start with attorney?

I started applying for social security benefits in July. I started the process with an attorney at a law firm. At this point all of the paperwork is in and I will get a decision at some point. If my claim was accepted without an attorney I would receive more. Was I better off to start this process with an attorney and in most cases aren’t most people denied the first time?

What does an Attorney/Law Guardian appointed to children in a custody/visitation suit do?

After 3 years of visitation and split custody my boyfriend was recently taken to court on a custody/ visitation suit by his ex. The mother wants him to have the children for more time then he already does. The judge adjourned the case and an Attorney/ Law Guardian was appointed to the children. The law guardian has requested that she visit the children at both my boyfriends house and their mothers house. My bf has made an appointment for the law guardian to come to our house on the children’s next visit and I’m wondering What should we expect when she(the law guardian) gets here.
What does the law guardian do once she arrives, does she sit back and watch how we interact, does she ask questions, does she do both? What is her overall job? I’m assuming to determine the best place for the children to live?
The mother also wants sole custody.

Why would an attorney that is being paid want to withdraw from a criminal case? Is he legally allowed to withdraw and keep your money just because he feels he is not going to win?

What should i do, because i think i have commited manslaughter?

While i was driving along a road i was suffering from a panic attack of depression, when i suddenly hit something, it went THUD and my car raised up as if i was going through a speed hump. I did not look back but instead accelerated off, hoping i did not hit someone, but later on i saw ambulance and police enter the intersection going in the direction i was coming from. When i got home i checked the vehicle for any blood, but there was not any blood on my vehicles external body just a dent on front bumper. I cant think straight anymore, nor enjoy anything i used to enjoy, all what comes into my head are people in business suits with badges knocking on my door, Remand centers, White wigs, Felon, Felony, Indictable offense, Guilty, Conviction, Plea bargaining, Old Sparky (Chair)

Should i consult a Criminal defense lawyer.
