How much is an acceptable settlement for my car accident?

I was in a car accident a while back in Denver, Colorado. I’m still going through the whole process with my lawyer and what not. From the car accident ( not at fault) my injuries were all deep tissue (neck, shoulders, and back). I’ve gotten better after eight weeks of therapy. I only lost a day and a half of working hours, because I quit the day after for personal reasons. My medical bills are at ,500.

Your attorney would be the best person to ask what is best.
But possibly there will be a settlement offer (high on your end low on theirs) and usually meet somewhere in the middle.
Just a guess, but a initial offer would be 20K.
You are entitled to 5K no question, so maybe a little over 10K if you have no long term injuries.

Traditional settlement (with an attorney) is medical bills times three. One third for the attorney, one third for medical bills, one third for you (for pain and suffering).

Be careful about settling; such settlements usually waive ALL claims and make future compensation difficult if you discover more injuries.

double whatever the insurance company offers you, or get a lawyer, you don’t have to pay him unless he wins or you settle

Is there a reason you don’t just accept the advice of your attorney?

S/he has access to far more details and expertise of similar cases then we could ever have. We are just random people.

Well if you are going that route you are in for a rude awakening. I was hit by a car (pedestrian) and in the hospital for four days. I was in surgery during the second day. Two years later the insurance company won’t give me my money. You have to understand these things take time.
